Four ball grinding test

    The extreme pressure wear resistance of grease is an important and challenging data among many indicators of grease. How to make the extreme pressure wear resistance of grease? Most of us in China use the four-ball machine method. The working principle of the four-ball machine is actually not difficult to understand. It uses four steel balls with a diameter of 12.7 mm, of which three steel balls are relatively stationary, while the fourth steel ball is fixed in the spindle fixture, and the fourth steel ball rotates at high speed, and its rotation speed is  500~1800 rpm per minute. The four-ball machine uses the lever principle to continuously increase the counterweight at one end of the lever, and there is an upper and lower force at the other end. The greater the counterweight, the greater the force. By increasing the counterweight to detect the extreme pressure of the grease, let's take a look at the operation process. First of all, we put three steel balls into the work rack, tighten them with a wrench to prevent loosening, evenly apply the grease that needs to be tested on the workbench, install the fourth steel ball into the spindle, and put the work rack on the workbench. Hang up the counterweight, and ensure that the counterweight does not shake in any way. Start the working button, and the equipment will automatically stop after 10 seconds. Remove the counterweight, remove the work frame, remove the excess grease, wipe the grease clean with a tissue, start reading the diameter of the abrasion marks, and read the diameter of the abrasion marks of the three steel balls, and so on.
