lubricating grease usage mistakes, grease maintenance tips, how to use grease correctly, industrial lubrication maintenance
Many enterprise maintenance personnel and equipment owners only pay attention to purchasing lubricating grease but ignore correct selection and usage methods. Wrong grease usage is the hidden cause of frequent equipment overheating, noise, wear and shutdown. Mastering professional lubricating grease usage and maintenance skills can maximize equipment performance and reduce unnecessary operating costs.
Mistake 1: Blindly using universal grease for all equipment. Many users use ordinary lithium grease for high-temperature, heavy-load or low-temperature precision equipment. Universal grease cannot adapt to extreme working conditions, which will lead to rapid lubrication failure and serious part wear.
Mistake 2: Mixing different types of grease. Different greases have different thickener formulas. Mixing lithium grease, synthetic grease and calcium-based grease will cause chemical reaction, grease deterioration, stratification and loss of lubricity, resulting in equipment failure.
Mistake 3: Excessive or insufficient grease filling. Too much grease will cause equipment operation resistance, heat accumulation, high temperature and energy consumption increase; too little grease will lead to insufficient oil film, dry friction and serious wear.
Mistake 4: Using expired and deteriorated grease. Long-term stored grease will oxidize and absorb moisture, resulting in texture hardening and performance decline. Using expired grease will not protect equipment but accelerate damage.
Mistake 5: Ignoring regular grease replacement. Many enterprises use grease for years without replacement. After long-term operation, the grease will be mixed with metal debris and dust, losing anti-wear performance and causing secondary damage to equipment.
First, select grease according to working conditions: match high-temperature grease for heat equipment, cold-resistant grease for low-temperature environments, and extreme pressure grease for heavy-load machinery.
Second, clean old grease thoroughly before refueling. Remove residual expired grease and internal impurities to avoid new grease contamination and ensure lubrication effect.
Third, control the filling amount reasonably. According to equipment specifications, fill 1/2 to 2/3 of the bearing cavity space to ensure heat dissipation and lubrication balance.
Fourth, seal and store grease properly. Keep unused grease sealed and away from high temperature, humidity and dust to avoid oxidation and deterioration.
Standardized lubrication maintenance is the simplest and most effective way to extend equipment service life. We provide professional grease selection guidance and one-stop industrial lubrication solutions for global buyers, supporting customized products and wholesale services.
